At the RPG Fiction Blog we’re always on the lookout for new stories. If you’ve got a short piece you’d like to submit – anything up to about 5000 words is good – then send it today to rpgfictionblog@gmail.com, with the subject “SUBMISSION:” plus your story name and your name. We regret that for now we can’t pay for submissions, but you’ll retain all rights to your story (while giving us permission to publish it here), and of course we’ll give you full credit, featuring a bio and any links to your other work. We’ll aim to get back to you on every submission within a month.
We’re aiming to publish an RPG-related short story every fortnight, starting on the 1st October 2015. At the moment we’re not planning to publish a print edition, although that may well change – we hope it will!
What Are We Looking For?
Your story can be absolutely anything related to RPGs. It’s probably best to write something other than a simple writeup of your last gaming session, although we’ll certainly consider those if they’re interesting and exciting enough. But strong character-based stories, action-packed adventures, mysteries, investigations, and so on are all great. You can submit fantasy, science-fiction, horror, historical, historical fantasy, and so on – just as long as our readers will somehow be able to tie it to the world of RPGs. While we’re not planning on publishing a whole lot of non-fiction, if you have a non-fiction piece which you think might be cool, please send it through – we’ll definitely take a look!
Format for Submissions
Please submit stories in an easy to read format, either .TXT, .RTF, or .DOC (we prefer .DOC for editing as it lets us track changes). Don’t use anything too ornate – 12-point Times New Roman, double-spaced, or something like it is fine. Please include your full name, pen name, the wordcount of your story, and your email address.
We look forward to hearing from you!
